Here we have another satisfied local customer who wanted to change up the look of her (yes I said her, women fix up their cars too!) brand new 2009 Lexus IS250. Her search for wheels ended when she saw the clean and sporty look of the MRR HR2 in the silver/polished finish. We went with the staggered set up which consists of 19×8.5 +35mm and 19×9.5 +45mm and wrapped them in 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 Falken FK452 tires. The HR2′s totally set the car off but we weren’t done yet. Our customer wanted the car to handle even better so we installed Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs which drops the car 1.4″ front and 1″ rear. Next we will be installing Hotchkis Sway Bars front and rear. Stay tuned…

i have just bought the mrr hr2 wheels for my lexus is250.it is 8.5 front and 9.5 rear but it is 38 offset all around.sould i have a problem with this setup.
@paul grammatikopoulos
will it be a lot different of the is250 you have there.can i do something now.please help me
@paul grammatikopoulos
The HR2 in 19″ does not come in a +38mm offset. If that is what you have, it should work ok, but make sure not to run any wider than a 265 tire in the rear, and even then you may still have to roll your fenders.
sorry again.it sais on the back of the wheels [et 38]that is the offset right?i went to the dealer today and put a rear wheel on.he told me that i wont have a problem as low as i go with the car.i say 225/35/19front and 255/35/19 rear.what do you think?i dont want to mesh with the car fenders.i love my car!he also told me to lower the car with HR springs because it will be more comfort than using the tein coillovers.is he right about enything?please help me
@paul grammatikopoulos
@paul grammatikopoulos
That offset does not match what MRR lists, but either way a 38 offset should be fine on the IS with a 9.5″ rear. The only way you might have to mess with the fenders would be if your car is really low. If you have a mild 1″ drop or so you should be fine with a 255/35/19. I would NOT take out Tein coilovers for H&R springs. Unless you are not happy with how the Tein coilovers ride.
hallo again.my lexus has 245-45 -17 now in the rear.should it be better to put 245 -35 -19 instead of 255.perhaps i could lower a litle bit more?I dont have teins now i m just asking you if the tein would be more comfort for my family or the HR springs.what do you think?
You can run various sizes in the rear of the Lexus IS250. 245, 255, or even 265 is fine for rear tires. Tein coilovers will give you more of a sport ride as compared to the H&R springs which will keep the ride more of a stock feel. Feel free to call us for any questions you may have at 800-242-9883. We sell Tein Springs, Tein Coilovers, and H&R Springs. We would be happy to take care of you on whatever you decide to go with.
hi again.the lexus that you have on the picture with the eibach springs wheres the stok socks or you have replace the?.how is the ride with this seting because i like the hight very much.last question thank you very much for your time
Paul, yes that car has stock shocks. The ride is very close to factory but a little stiffer.
So with respect to suspension, the ONLY thing that has been swapped on the car other than the wheels are the lowering springs – “Eibach Pro-Kit lowering springs which drops the car 1.4″ front and 1″ rear.” Right??
My post here is kind of a repetition but I am just making sure prior to getting the whole set up – b/c I really love the look overall.
Also is it possible to post the rear picture of the car?..to see how wide and nice the tires look from the back?
Thanks in advance.
And the fit should be the exact same on a 06 IS250 right? Since it’s the same body style.
One last question:
I like my ride smooth and am thus thinking to get 235/40/19 and 265/35/19 instead of 235/35/19 and 265/30/19 tires. Will this be a problem, or will there be any rubbing?
Thanks.
I just install H&R spring to my 08 IS250. My question is it okay if i put 20′ Vertini Hennessey rims
Yes, the wheels will still fit just fine. We’ve done plenty of 20″ wheels on the Lexus IS250 after a spring drop.
